Have questions about LACRM? Ask here!
I created an update form (not an intake form) that has Contact fields and Pipeline fields. When I added the first Pipeline field, LACRM automatically added a “When the form is submitted” action to attach that Pipeline to the Contact. In my planned workflow, the Pipeline will already be attached to the Contact, and I don’t want to attach a 2nd Pipeline status to the Contact. I tried to delete the automatically-added action, but I get a message saying that I have to delete all of the Pipeline fields first. How do I prevent the form submission from attaching the Pipeline to the Contact for what will be the second time?
If you have a pipeline field in your form, it will automatically create a new pipeline item. I’m afraid we don’t have a way to update an existing pipeline item through a form, it can only update contact or company records. If you don’t want a new pipeline item attached, you’ll need to delete the pipeline field from the form. That’ll automatically remove the action to create a new pipeline item.
As a workaround, if you still want to collect the pipeline data, but not create a new pipeline item, you could use the “Add a field not in your CRM option.” You could recreate the pipeline field there to collect the information, without it creating a new pipeline item. The entry would appear in the form submission, and you could copy/paste it from the form submission into an existing pipeline item to move it there. I’m sorry I don’t have better news for you here, but I hope that helps some!
This is helpful, to get clarity on this feature. Thanks!
