Hit Alt + Shift + 3 on your keyboard to add a contact quickly

LACRM user Janice asked our team:

I add contacts manually to my CRM when I get new leads. Sometimes when I’m going through a list of names, I need to add a contact one after the other. Is there a way for an “Add another contact” button to show up whenever I’m done creating a contact?

While we are unlikely to add a “Add another contact” button at the bottom of the “Add contact” page (it makes the page clunky to have lots of options at the bottom of the screen, and increases the likelihood that you click on the wrong button by accident), one great tip we ended up figuring out with Janice was to use keyboard shortcuts.

Specifically, if you find yourself adding contacts often, it could save you some time to just hold Alt + Shift + 3 on your keyboard in the CRM to quickly pull open the “Add a contact” page.

In Janice’s case, all she had to do was hit “Enter” to create her new contact, and once she hits Alt + Shift + 3, she can immediately start entering another new contact.

P.S. We have lots of other keyboard shortcuts for popular actions (like adding a task, or jumping back to your calendar) in the CRM. Just press Ctrl + K when you’re in your CRM account to see the full list!

Have you tried any of LACRM’s keyboard shortcuts? Are we missing any shortcuts that you’d like? Let me know!

Is there a keyboard shortcut for Duplicate this Contact? Would love that for adding multiple people at same company

Thanks

Chris

We don’t have a shortcut for duplicating a contact I’m afraid. That said, there might be a slightly easier option for you! You can use the shortcut to create a new contact, and then enter the company name. Once the company name is entered, you’ll have options to populate the email, phone, and address data saved on the company record into the contact. You can use that to, for example, easily save the same address on every contact at that company! You can learn more about how to copy company data to a contact here too.

I hope that helps some! Let me know if you have any other questions
