Calendar integration and contact linking

I use Outlook for calendar and Calendly for scheduling. I have long used LACRM’s Outlook sync to be able to view my business and personal calendars in one place (a great feature†), but events need to be manually linked to contacts, which is time consuming.

I recently enabled the Calforce integration, which does seem to link events to contacts automatically, but only for events created through Calendly.

The result is many of my calendar events get duplicated, so I get lots of entries on my calendar like this. (The unlinked one is from Outlook, and a linked one is from Calforce, and I don’t know where the 3rd one is coming from).

I can’t rely only on Calforce, as then I won’t see my other Outlook appointments. Is there any better way to be setting this up?

† I want to add that I really appreciate LACRM’s ability to show both my business Outlook and personal Google calendars in a single place - Google Calendar offers the capability to sync Outlook and I’ve had it enabled for a decade, but it often fails to sync certain events and is quite slow to display changes.

The duplicate events are likely because both Outlook and Calforce are synced with your LACRM account. When an event is scheduled in Calendly, Calforce creates an event in LACRM directly. At the same time, since Calendly is connected with Outlook, it also creates an event in Outlook, which then syncs over to LACRM as well. Then you end up with two copies of the same event (one from CalForce, and one from Outlook).

To stop that from happening, you can either stop Calendly from syncing with your Outlook calendar, or turn off the CalForce integration. I’d probably recommend keeping CalForce turned on so the contacts are linked, so it may be better to stop Calendly from syncing with Outlook. Your Outlook calendar can still be linked with LACRM, you’ll just be stopping Calendly from adding those appointments to Outlook (once they sync over from CalForce to LACRM, they’ll be added by the CRM to Outlook anyway).

The third event is a bit of an oddity, have you been seeing triplicates of all those events? If you can email us at help@lessannoyingcrm.com we can take a closer look at that!
