Curious about how the LACRM team works behind the scenes? In this video, I do a deep dive in our tools and processes for launching new features to the right users at the right time.
If you’d like early access to some of our new features, click the links below:
Very cool - thank you! A few questions, of course …
Will the new saved views be functionally identical to saving a browser bookmark for a filtered view? How will you keep the list of saved views from becoming unwieldy if there’s many of them? And will saved views be coming to the pipeline reports as well?
Hey Tom! So yes, these will mostly be like using browser bookmarks. The biggest difference is that if you ever use date filters, those don’t really work with browser bookmarks because you might want a report showing things from “last month” but the bookmark will save that as an exact date range, so when you pull it up next month, it’ll still show the date range you selected from the previous month. This new feature will support relative dates so things like “last month” or “year to date” will be supported.
It’s also worth noting that very few of our customers know you can bookmark reports. We tell people about that trick when they reach out to support about this, but most people never reach out. So part of why we want to build this feature is so that the other 95% of our customers can discover this feature.
The saved views will appear as tabs running horizontally across the top of the page. If they go off the screen, you’ll be able to scroll to the right to view them all.
You’re right that this UI is more designed for people with a relatively small number of saved views. It will work with an unlimited number, but if you have more than, say, 5-10 views, you might be better of sticking with browser bookmark for the ones you don’t use as commonly.
Finally, yes, these saved views will be present on the main “Contacts and Companies” page as well as each pipeline report. The pipeline reports will all have their own separate set of saved views, since most people use different pipelines in different ways.
I hope that all makes sense! Let me know if there’s anything else on your mind.
Good stuff, keep making these videos. I am always looking for new an exciting features. I feel I have been with LACRM on and off for a bit and I seem to always come back. I have tried other CRM’s and they just don’t have what I am looking for.
