Hey all! We just finished up “AI Week” and we build a ton of small improvements customers have been asking for. Here’s a video walking through everything we did:
Oh, no, I forgot to mention one more: You can now duplicate a pipeline item. If you have, say, a lead attached to a contact, you can open the lead up and go to “actions”. That will let you duplicate the lead. It can be attached to the same contact, or you can pick a different contact.
Fantastic its great to see all these things you are doung. I will use the default value for custom field a lot ![]()
Thanks for the search bar on groups and forms! Perfect!
I have an existing custom field called Job Title but cannot set default value for it? Is it onky newly created custom fields that you can set a default value
I just looked into this. I think the issue is that “Job title” is one of our default fields, and unfortunately for weird technical reasons, those fields can’t be customized. You can delete them (which really just hides them from view) and create a custom field with the same name*, but I’m afraid there’s not a way to directly customize (change the name, set default values, make required, etc.) default fields. Sorry, I know that’s a pretty unsatisfying answer. I’ll add it to the list of ideas for the future, but I doubt we’ll get back to custom field improvements in the near future.
*Note that “job title” specifically is a special field because it’s used to summarize where a contact works (e.g. “VP of sales at Acme Inc.”) so if you recreate that field, you’d lose that special behavior.
Thank you Tyler, that makes sense to me and I understand your explanation. Its great all the improvements you are doing in general. LACRM gets easier to use with each incremental improvement.
As they say in England “Onwards and Upwards” ![]()
Awesome stuff! I really appreciate being able to select multiple tasks for bulk actions, filtering groups (I have many dozens), copying an email to another contact, and attaching files to notes.
Because every present you give us leaves us wanting more, I naturally have some related wishes (maybe if you have an AI week again next year
)
- Default values for other field types (specifically, drop-down list fields)
- Filter the task report and contact history by a string (for some reason, the browser Ctrl+F “search in page” doesn’t always work reliably for me; plus for contact history I have to remember to first scroll to the bottom and click “show all history”)
Default values for other field types should be coming soon. We couldn’t quite finish it during AI week, but assuming it’s not too much extra work, we’ll squeeze that in before moving on to other things.
And I hear you and have noted down the other request. The reason ctrl+f sometimes doesn’t work is that if there’s a lot of data on a page, we “virtualize” it which means that we only render the content that is currently visible on the screen, so everything above and below the visible area is actually blank until you scroll to it. This is a performance thing (rendering an entire giant page slows the browser down significantly), but yeah, it’s annoying that it breaks ctrl+f. We’ve got your request on the list to hopefully add one day.
This is the best of the new updates! For me, anyway. I’m a realtor who uses pipelines to track my progress with buyers, sellers, landlords, etc. If a client asks me to rent his or her house out, I set up a Landlord Pipeline and input info like estimated value, list price, etc. But I also record information about the house or condo in this pipeline. I then move the rental listing through the various stages of the pipeline till ultimately it’s rented out and the transaction is closed and paid out. If the landlord comes back to me three years later saying that the tenant has moved out and they need me to rent it out again, I can now duplicate the old pipeline and start the process again without having to recreate the pipeline entirely and also while keeping the previous closed pipeline as record of the work I’ve done for this client. The ability to duplicate a pipeline will save me a ton of time!
That’s great! I’m glad we can save you a bit of extra time.
@tbridgman You can now set default values for dropdown fields. Enjoy!
love the pipeline duplication feature. @Tony that’s a perfect use case - i run into the same thing where clients come back for repeat business and having to rebuild everything from scratch was always a pain.
the group filtering is a lifesaver too. once you get past like 15-20 groups scrolling through the list gets old fast.
really appreciate the pace of these improvements. the fact that you shipped dropdown defaults within days of someone asking is pretty wild for any software company, let alone a CRM.
