I just realized tonight that TASK creation could use a PRIORITY OPTION.
There might be 100 calls that need a followup because a VM was left for example.
But maybe 10 of those have a more substantial reason of a follow up that could get lost in the task list. Ability to filter tasks by priority would solve this. While you’re at it - why not custom priorities too.
Right now I’m manually creating some Basecamp ToDo’s so they stand out - and sooner than later will have them sent to basecamp via api with a pipeline trigger (I use some pipeline statuses strictly for triggering api routines.

Hi Jamie,
Thanks for sharing this idea! I took a look at our list of future product improvement ideas and I didn’t see this on the list yet, so I’m going to bring it up in our next team meeting on Thursday. I’ll let you know what the rest of the team thinks but this feels like an idea that would go nicely with any future improvements we make to the task feature.
In the mean time, using calendars as a way to mark priority is a workaround I suggest sometimes. Here’s a link to the help article on this. It sounds like you already have a workaround for this, but just wanted to share this with anybody else looking for a workaround on this thread.
I’m curious about your API routines! What kind of things do you trigger when you change pipeline statuses?
Hi Jamie - I just wanted to update this thread after chatting with colleagues. While task priority specifically is not on our list currently, we are planning on a major task overhaul in the future that will likely include some features that could accomplish this. The big one here is we are considering creating customizable fields for tasks - so you would be able to use that to sort tasks by priority. Or you could use it for a different type of categorization. Some other task improvements that we are considering for the future include the ability to reorder tasks and make them recurring.
I’m afraid these changes are still a ways in the future at this point and I can’t promise that they will end up being built. But I did want you to know that these are some of the ideas we are considering and that this custom fields for tasks idea would hopefully be useful for you.
Thanks again for the feedback!
